Jack's Baby Blessing

Heavenly Father, by the power of the Melchizedek Priesthood which we hold and in the name of Jesus Christ, we take this infant in ours arms to give him a name and a blessing by which he will be known on the records of the Church and throughout his life by family and friends, that name is Jack Nyle Farmer.

Jack, you have been sent here at this time for a reason, i bless you to be obedient to God's commandments so you can fulfill your earthly mission. You have been brought into this world in a time where good is being seen as evil and evil seen as good, I bless you to recognize truth and see good in all things.
I bless you to be outgoing, have a desire to share the gospel and be a light in dark places.
I bless you to be happy, be optimistic about life.
I bless you to have good health so you might enjoy the wonderful things this world has to offer.
Discover your talents and use them to build the kingdom of God.
I bless you with charity, with the ability to love and forgive others as our Savior does.
I bless you with the desire to thirst after knowledge as it will bless you and the lives around you.
I bless you to love the Gospel. Choose to get baptized, receive the holy priesthood, go on a mission, get married in a temple of God and endure to the end so you can return to live with your Heavenly Father and your Savior Jesus Christ and live with your family for eternity.

Jack's Birth Story

Saturday we decided it would be a good idea to have a fun filled family day in case I went into labor early. We spent the day at the pool and getting ice cream. All day I felt as though the baby had dropped. There was a lot of pressure and the baby's position felt different. I told Eric to be ready for the baby to come that night or the next. All day I felt like he was coming soon.

1:15 a.m. I woke up to my water breaking. I woke Eric up right away and felt very jittery and excited. We talked in bed for a little bit and we decided to get bags packed and ready to go. After some calls to our upstairs neighbors, my mom and the L&D nurse we headed over to the hospital. During the drive contractions started to get pretty intense.

2:00 a.m. We made it to the hospital and were ready to get things going. We were told the anesthesiologist could take up to an hour to get to the hospital. I've heard things go pretty fast for the second delivery so I didn't want to chance waiting to get the epidural and it taking forever so we told them to call him over. He showed up only about 30 minutes later so my time feeling contractions was very short. After the epidural we rested. Things were going really slow though and by 8:00 a.m. I was still only dilated to a 4. They decided to give me pitocin. By 11:00 a.m. I was dilated to a 10. We waited about half an hour for the doctor to come so I could start pushing.

11:39 a.m. After three pushes Jack Nyle was welcomed into this world by two eagar and excited parents!! We spent nine months preparing to meet this little guy and couldn't be more in love with him. Our little family is overwhelmed with gratitude for another addition.
